Professional Learning Communities (PLC)

PLC, or Professional Learning Community, is a team approach to focus on students in a grade level and their academic success as well as teachers’ best practices in the classroom and on the assessments/curriculum.

Learning Communities are comprised of the grade level teachers or specials teachers…. The focus on math and literacy are the major areas that HR teachers focus on in a learning community. Meeting weekly, even daily, helps the team as well. Teachers plan together and use data to drive decisions about student learning, common assessments, pre-assessments and enrichment/remediation.
